Sweetness: The Enigmatic Life of Walter Payton by Jeff Pearlman. Good biography of the Chicago Bears NFL football player, from his birth and upbringing in rural Mississippi (still segregated into the 1970's) to his death from bile duct cancer in 1999. He lived only 46 years, but many have fond memories of a good man.
