Good point. I really do not think Clark's arguments held water. Lois had chosen Clark over SM in "Whine, Whine, Whine" even with Clark never giving her a good explanation for running off on him first at the carnival and then at the restaurant. Although I think he stuck around with Calvin longer than needed at the hospital. He could have made it back in time to avoid totally destroying his date with Lois.
Nope. According the LnC Character database, Dr. Klein only showed up 6 times in S4, while M&J were in most of the episodes.
However the character database does not both to delineate which ones didn't have M&J.
