do with Superman? Why I'm pregnant? What!?"
Clark looked up at the ceiling, his expression almost
prayer-like as he searched the air itself for the right
words. He took a deep breath and brought his gaze down
level with hers. "It has to do with why Superman can *not*
be the father of that baby, Lois. But," he said, regret
softening his tone. "I almost wish it were true. You have
no idea how much." He removed his glasses. "Because ...
