Jimmy and Perry didn't see him while Superman was "undercover" since it happened in Smallville, before Nor captured the Kents. Plus, Lois and Superman were always "close". I have no idea how they didn't think he could pull it off. Actually there's a funny story on the Archives about this very thing, but I can never remember the title. It's something like "Everybody Knows".
