Yep, me too. Only I’ve had it happen with native speakers, too.

I try to be nice, too, when the person is extra sensitive, but once I know the person, I’m more straight forward. There was one person that I did a beta for that I actually just had to say that she couldn’t do that way because she didn’t seem to understand anything else. (It was a big plot hole.) But that was the only time I did that.
