In any case, my theoretical response would have been less to your initial post and more to some of the later suggestions.

I am sorry you are having such a difficult time right now. Both of my father's parents died of Alzheimer's; it is a horrible, horrible disease. Even more for the caregivers than the patient.

Do you know the most surprising thing about divorce? It doesn't actually kill you, like a bullet to the heart or a head-on car wreck. It should. When someone you've promised to cherish till death do you part says, "I never loved you," it should kill you instantly.
