well, i'm not one to pick favorites, which is why i never replied to beth's desert island topic, but offhand, i'd say:
1. there are quite a lot of story types tht i really like... waffy, comedy, pure a plot, etc. overall, i'd have to say anything with a good balance to it... humor, plot, romance.. the works. not too angsty, not just waffy. everything.
2. let's see... anything by nan, irene, or kathy. kaylle's "in dreams"... uhm... i'm going to leave out s many good ones just because they're not popping immediately to mind... pttc was on the darker side, but still up there.... hmm. what else am i leaving out? maybe i'll just have to come back to this...
