Since Lois asked (begged, actually) to be frozen, I would say the latter.

Actually, in both of these, she was just "mostly dead," so the worst he could be charged with would be attempted murder. Actually not even that -- in neither case did he have the intent to kill her. I'm not sure what this would be: Practicing medicine without a license, maybe?
