Why Lois could listen to Linda's interview... I think, in large part, it's because Olivia's story is *so* similar to her own that they wouldn't want to taint her. Linda is very different and it shouldn't affect her. Sure. That's my story and I'm sticking to it

The belt thing is more a reaction to a visual/sound stimuli. It has nothing to do with Clark himself, but rather what Paul did. Clark holding her at night is a different thing and he's always careful in how he approaches her. At this point, he doesn't realize that it affects her. He'll find out though.
