Interesting bit of history, but I think I'll stick with "foul". It just wouldn't be a VirginiaR story without my messed up idioms.

Maybe if we were talking about Lex falling from his penthouse, I might go with "fell swoop", but only for the pun. <<ducking>>
Plus, if he said "fowl swoop" Tempus might think Clark is calling him a chicken and start a vendetta against him... oh, wait, never mind.
