Okay, I really should continue writing my paper on Irish politics, but I really cannot be bothered at the moment, and since I found the answers thus far interesting, this thread seems like a great distractive exercise.

I will mainly focus on romantic stuff because "Roman Holiday" is on and I just feel like it.

1. Movies

- Bridget Jones I+II (gotta love Mark Darcy and Daniel Cleaver fighting)
- The Truth about Cats and Dogs (so sweet, so funny, I wish I were Janeane Garafalo)
- Before Sunset + Before Sunrise
- Pillow Talk (Rock Hudson will always have a place in my heart)
- 50 First Dates (I never would have thought Adam Sandler would make such a great romantic lead, but it's really very sweet)
- Adam's Rib (I always love Spencer Tracy - and I love how strong a character Katherine Hepburn is in this, too)
- Two Weeks Notice (I love Hugh Grant and Sandra Bullock)
- Garden State (funny, touching and the music is great)
- How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days
- The Dinner Game (this French comedy is not very romantic, but fabulously funny, check it out at Amazon )
- Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (I love it and cry every time, makes you realize how intimately intertwined love and pain are)
- Station Agent (beautiful film about not fitting in, about friendship and isolation - and also very funny smile )
- It's a Wonderful Life (I just love that the message is not about following your dreams, but about how our lives are touched by people who accept responsibility)
- To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything Julie Newmar (never thought Patrick Swayze could be so funny and also touching)

2. Books
- Can You Keep a Secret? by Sophie Kinsella (what would you do if you thought your plane was about to crash and you told the person next to you your deepest secret, but then you don't die and he turns out to be your boss? Hilarious.)
- A Girl's Best Friend by Liz Young
- Asking for Trouble by Liz Young (having an imaginary boyfriend is one thing, but having to hire an escort so your mom won't find out at a family wedding, that's where things get complicated. A riot.)
- The Discovery of Heaven by Harry Mulisch (beautiful)
- Surfacing by Margaret Atwood (very touching)
no, I really don't want to get into the non-entertainment books today, so I'll stop right here

3. TV shows (past or present)
- Wonderfalls (Jaye is a misanthropic underachiever until inanimate objects start talking to her - quirky, fun and romantic, if you liked Dead Like Me or Pushing Daisies, do check it out)
- Peep Show (unmasks a lot of anxieties and hypocrisies and because of that is great fun)
- Moonlighting (one of the most creative and funny shows ever)
- Anything but Love (Jamie Lee Curtis and Richard Lewis work surprisingly well, this was the first romantic comedy sitcom I watched)
- Black Books (this British comedy about a book store owner who hates customers but loves alcohol is really great fun)
- Men in Trees (I always love a great supporting cast, the nature in Alaska is just splendid to look at, there is great comedy and sizzling chemistry between the leads - I am really very fond of this show)
- Spaced (this British comedy has more film references than any other show I know and is simply hilarious)
- MASH (the best comedy ever made, so funny and so touching, I love the characters and it seems to never grow old)

I also like How I Met Your Mother, Blackadder, Coupling, Northern Exposure (actually love it) and many more I probably forgot.

4. Moments/Scenes from any/mixture of the above
- LnC: all the sports metaphor talk in Lucky Leon was hilarious
- LnC: the shoo-wob shoo-wob scene (I always call it that because of the Flamingo's song "I only have eyes for you" in the background) in The Phoenix, where the are on stakeout and look at each other undressing through the tainted glass
- LnC: every scene where Clark's shirt is off goofy
- Wonderfalls: Jaye's and Eric's first kiss
- Wonderfalls: the very last scene of the show with Travis's "love will come through" as background music, I cry a little every time
- Northern Exposure: the flying cow
- Northern Exposure: Ed talking to the ghost of One Who Waits
- Anything but Love: Marty trying to show Hannah what a great kisser he is right after his dentist's appointment when his mouth is still numb
- Moonlighting: the whole Atomic Shakespeare episode
- Moonlighting: every time Maddy and David refer to the fact that they are just characters in a television show
- Coupling: the four-way-phone-conversation that wouldn't end (Patrick: "You want a baby?", Sally: "No, I didn't mean it like that, you first have to get a cat, see if you're maternal." Patrick: "You already have a cat!" Sally: "Well, I'll have to shave it, see if I still like it.")
- Coupling: all weird Jeff moments, references to Patrick's Cupboard of Love
- MASH: Colonel Potter mourning his old friends
- MASH: Charles Emerson Winchester III bonding with the Korean musicians, that was so sad and sweet
- Men in Trees: Marin and Jack getting it on to "Overdue" by Bitter:Sweet (the song is perfect and James Tupper has the most sexy, masculine voice)
- Men in Trees: the cook-off between Marin and Cash over who makes the meanest stew
- Men in Trees: Jack having to make "otter porn" in the wild in the hope that the footage will help zoo otters mate
- Black Books: Bernhard and Manny trying to "re-create" the fine old wine they drank with household items in "Grapes of Wrath"

5. Moments/Scenes you wish had been written/acted out differently. (Eg. No amnesia kiss in Superman 2)

- no Wedding Argh in LnC
- would have prolonged the first courtship of Marin and Jack in Men in Trees, thus sparing them the on-and-off game
- more Martha, Jonathan and Perry in LnC
- LnC: a little make-out session during the stakeout in The Phoenix
- LnC: different actor as Scardino, to make him less annoying
- LnC: no New Krypton
- LnC: no Soul Mates (of course they *are* soul mates, but this "curse" was just too much for me)
- more Aaron/Mahandra-romance in Wonderfalls
- much less John Ritter in Anything But Love
- no Marc Harmon in Moonlighting and no darn breakup!
- LnC: no Cat
- LnC: would have kept Michael Landes as Jimmy
- LnC: I would *so* have kept Deborah Joy Levine on the show

funny how there are so many things in LnC I would change, I guess it's true: flaws make you lovable wink

6. For the Deandreamer in all of us, devil , but not limited to, scenes/moments that you wish YOU had been apart of. (I think this might be a different question)?

well, Clark is meant to be with Lois, not with me - so I'm content to just watch all those fabulously steamy scenes smile

7. Songs

- Somewhere Only We Know - Keane
- Love Will Come Through - Travis
- Burning the Daze - Marc Cohn
- Best of My Love - the Emotions
- Caramel - Suzanne Vega
- It looks like love - Josh Rouse
- Heartbeat - José Gonzáles
- New Slang - The Shins
- Let Go - Frou Frou
- Quelqu'un M'a Dit - Carla Bruni
- Wess nid was es isch - Stephan Eicher
- Short Skirt, Long Jacket - Cake
- Mooie Blouse - Kaspar van Kooten
- Piano Man - Billy Joel
- Everybody's Gotta Learn Sometime - Beck
- Old Love - Eric Clapton; actually, the LnC scene with that song started my Eric Clapton obsession in the mid-90s; but I'm much better now smile
- Closer to You - Jackie Greene
- Woman Trouble - Artful Dodger
- Times Like These - Jack Johnson
- Play Deaed - Björk

I really have to stop now ...

8. Places you'd like to visit (real or imaginary-why not)?

- Alaska
- Great Canyon
- some of the great American national parks
- more of Asia (only went to Japan, which I would love to visit again, not China because of poltical situation)
- Canada!
- Israel
- Sweden, Norway, Denmark
- more of France
- South Africa
- Metropolis
- Hogwarts (I'm not a great big fan, but that would surely be a fun vacation wink )
- islands, cold and warm, far and close

9. Since we are folcs, there ought to be one completely L and C, question, so how about, and hey this might inspire writers out there, too, 10 or so things you wish we could have seen in the show or seen more of.

already answered that in 5, I think.

Generally speaking: more romance, more banter, less Kryptonians and annoying federal agents, definitely more of mischievous Clark (I don't like that they pretty much smoothed all his edges, I loved how he send Lois to the sewer in season 1 for example and always liked him teasing her)

10. Folc's Choice. Pick something.

favourite quotes:

"Honey, there'll always be another headless corpse. Love comes maybe once." (Perry White)

"These souvenirs aren't working: they're supposed to remind me of a place I'm not, but I'm still here." (Eric Gotts in Wonderfalls)

wow, now that's what I call exhaustive ...

But now it just has to be said: that's all, FoLCs.
