Looting a sunken ship....to suddenly appear with some Spanish gold

I'm talking legal salvage. All Clark has to do is find a ship that is not worth recovery operations with current tech.
Most had simple gold bars, not the fancy coins and artwork that one sees in the news. No historial or cultural artifact value.
