Nice start. I hope there will be more.
As a side point, I can't understand Clark's money problems.
When it was just himself I can see not using his powers to enable him to build extra funds but with a child, no, just plain stupid of him.
All he needs to do for some extra cash is locate one of the many Spanish treasure ships or do some quick gold mining or a hundred other things that are not illegal, or immoral.
