Everyone seems to think Kal has something else on his mind. And, I wouldn't be surprised if you were right, and the cliffhanger ending really is just a tease.

That said, it does seem to me that if Kal *had* read the book Lois saw (and we don't know for sure he did), he'd most definitely want to try that with Lois. I don't think he would know enough to try to get Lois "in the mood"; he's just walk up to her and say, "There is something I want to do with you. Something I would like us to try together." Don't you think?
