So, this happens after the 'almost first date'? So, Clark isn't having to take insult after insult just to stay in Lois's good graces.

Now, why would Lois come up with an excuse like "We're in Vegas to get married" if she didn't have some subliminal desire that she won't openly fess up to. Oh, I cannot wait until the next part! And I can't wait to find out why the next of kin has been notified.
