In some ways, the NK-ers you describe remind me of the pre-1948 Jews. I suspect that there would continue to be parallels in that, for example, wherever they do settle, the people who had been living there will resent them. (Unless, of course, they settle someplace like Antarctica.) (Please, let's not get into a pro- or anti- Israel discussion here!)
A profession I have sometimes seen Clark in in fanfic is a writer of either fiction or travelogues. Could you use that, or would you want something else?
Hmmm...he could always be an actor. He certainly has the looks to be a leading man! And he could expand his career by doing his own stunts.
