I only write on paper if I don't have access to a computer - eg, when I'm hanging around central London killing time between rehearsal and concert, or if I'm on holiday.
Otherwise, I write on a laptop, sitting on the sofa with the sound turned down on the TV. Sometimes the TV images are too distracting so I turn it off altogether, but mostly I keep an eye on it in case something more interesting than my current WIP comes on
