Sorry, Carol. I thought you were referring to Sam and Ellen, as well. Now that I reread I realized you said, "His parents had..." but in the context of the rest of the paragraph it was easy to misunderstand "his" and "hers." You might want to change it to "Mrs. Kent's" and "Mr. Kent's."

Lois' and Clark's wedding was so bittersweet. On the one hand, it was a means to an end. They chose a difficult road because they thought it was the better of three evils.

Aunt Loise is an interesting character. On the one hand, she's very blunt with the judge that she has never liked children. On the other hand, she's an old softie who thought that love couldn't come to her twice. She pays for a honeymoon and gives Lois a negligee that she knows won't be used for the purposes intended for a long time. Very interesting.
