Hmmm I'm just jumping in because I'm sad to see how many people dislike second gen fics.
I love to read about them when they are grown-up... not so much when they are babies though.
Perfect examples: Honesty (being written by Beth right now), and Irene Dutch's Firestorm series. If you guys haven't read those you should... it may change your mind on a nicely written second gen fic.
As for the Anne of Green Gable's stories... I for some reason never read those growing up. I just saw the mini series (which I loved)and didn't even know about the books till I was grown. I think however I'm going to have to read them soon.
