Okay now that I got that out of my system, Clark's smart...he'll wonder why she seemed to be, uhm, how do I say... "teasing" him if she had any real interest in Luthor...RIGHT??!!??

That's just my take on this...I think if Lois had never answered Luthor at all he would have gotten perturbed and acted..."Luthorish" meaning he would have gone all monster and domineering on her as Luthor is known to do.
