the period pieces were so badly done - appalling accents, stupid costumes, unconvincing 'curse' story.
I'm not sure I want to believe that they'd have made it anyway even without the struggles.

Wendy, I can imagine you wanting to shake the scriptwriters/producers of L&C when the episode aired.
I had a similar view with regards to their ending up together being a forgone conclusion. I don't really dislike the episode, because I didn't mind the inaccuracies quite so much. Then again, I know next to nothing about medieval Europe.
