I completely agree. I believe someone was supposed to arrive via cab, not flight.
I can't see Clark getting out this without a lecture from his wife about setting ground rules either. Then Clark responding how he couldn't expect that his daughter would do that because that wouldn't have been something HE would have attempted. To which Lois would answer that he should have known better "Because *she's* MY daughter, too!"
