I was doubly smacking Clark up aside the head with a two by four on that one because just prior to discovering LNC, I'd spent three years with The Young Riders, where the Kid decided (temporarily) not to marry Lou because it might put her in danger...which made absolutely no sense for precisely the same reasons!
Maybe it's a guy thing.
