This part was so sweet Carol! I love the idea of the letters. You know, it's always so irritating when characters tell you things like that and then you have to write them. It wouldn't be nearly as irritating if they didn't turn out to be right so often!
Lois is very smart to be worried about getting to close to Clark. If she sleeps for him, then that cements their marriage in a forever type way. And I don't think she's quite ready to make that commitment yet.
