Especially after you started the "what makes a good revelation" thread, I went into a state of anxiety over whether this one would satisfy.
It wasn’t so much a good revelation thread as about how readers prefer Lois to react to it. I have a fetish for berserk Lois, but if it flows from the story, I enjoy all kinds of reactions. But you are right, when they clear the air in ten minutes and everything is OK I don’t really buy it. Just as I thought it was poorly handled in the show. And I agree the epilogue was a nice way to show that it was a longer process.
There is also the common trap of cuting up Lois were she immediately goes on a journey of introspection and offers apologies for how horrible she has been. That was one of the strongest points of “If I were you”. That she still had no compunction about manipulating Clark/Superman even though she had treated him really badly.
