Yes, I seem to recall being baffled at the time that the BBC was being less brutal with the knife than SKY. It was pretty bizarre. You'd kind of expect it to be the other way around.

I have no clue why SKY were so twitchy, but their cuts were utterly ridiculous and, even more irritating, with no attempt to disguise them or make the ep logical around them. I recall having no clue why the machine exploded in VD until the BBC/DVD showing. goofy

I've no idea if they treated the previous three seasons in the same way because I caught those in reruns. S4 was the first season I watched 'live'.
