Just my late two cents. I think one of the reasons the media tracks these people besides fame and beauty, etc. is because of the fact that they're, pardon my french, dumbasses. They haven't earned most of our respect in the slightest, and they aren't people we should be looking up to. I think the real question is, why do we spend our time following people like this when there are real, hardworking people we should be paying attention to? I know I'm guilty of this myself. Every time Britney and Paris pop up in the news, I honestly think we're focusing on their drunk driving etc to laugh at them. Their beauty and fame may put them in the spotlight, but there are plenty of beautiful, famous people who don't cause the spectacle they do. It's because they do stupid things that we keep the spotlight on them.
