In every post I see, the icon for 'report this post to a moderator' at the bottom of the post, has been replaced with a picture of Tempus, a picture big enough to block some of the post in the text. Which is both weird and annoying.

I thought that I couldn't be the only one that this was happening too, but since it's been like this all day and no one else has mentioned it, maybe it is just me? Or perhaps it's like the elephant in the living room, everyone can see it, but no one is mentioning as they're all too polite.

I mean, who wouldn't ignore the madman from the future who's appeared to take over the internet, starting with these boards, in order to prevent utopia?

Well, he is a darn nice guy after all.

Helga

Uh. Not on my screen. Even when I refreshed.

How odd.

What browser are you using?

Oh, so maybe it is just me...

Now I'm worried.

I'm using Firefox, version 2.

And this is what I see Tempus Tempus Tempus

And now I've started to look more closely, some of the other icons are in the wrong place too, like the 'Report post' is now where the 'reply' icon should be; and this little graemlin rotflol has been replaced with the Delete Topic Icon.

I hope you can rid me of tempus and help the rotflol graemlin get back to his little graemlin buddies.

That is very strange.

I'm using FireFox 2, as well, and it's not happening here.

Have you tried clearing your cache?

Paul

I'm also using Firefox. No Tempus in site. Maybe he really is opening a time window into your screen.

It rather sounds like there is a virus on your computer. Run you virus scanner. If you don't have one, download AVG free. It's a very good virus scanner. I use it, and it's the best one I've ever seen. Far better than McAfee or Norton. Here's a link: AVG Free

If this is a Firefox 2.0 bug, it's not one I've seen reported yet! A virus does seem more likely.

(Although 2.0 does have a couple of vulnerabilities to viruses that 1.5 does not, they were supposed to have patched them.)

No problems here. My layout is a bit different than what I see in your picture.

I hope it clears up for you soon!

OK, I've no idea what caused it, but it's gone now. I cleared the cache and refreshed everything, and no more Tempus.

I don't think it was a virus, as this was the only site I had problems with, and you'd have to be a Folc to create a virus that specific, and how many Folcs are there that are that malicious?

I'm no longer plagued by Tempus and this little guy is rolling around merrily as before rotflol

Yeah, I had a feeling that would do it.

I don't think it's a virus. I think it's a glitch in the cache. It stuck the wrong file under the wrong name or something like that.

In any case, glad you got it cleared up. smile
