I didn't remember him spending that much time with Corban, who I thought left the building after dropping Clark off with Vale et al. /draw box around 'watch Metallo' again on my to-do list/
He probably didn't. It's not entirely clear. Clark doesn't look to good. The meeting in the conference room in the scene before suggests that some time passed in which they weren't able to contact Superman.
Anyway, it always irks me how differently Clark reacts to kryptonite exposure. Sometimes he's powerless for some time, at other times he just bounces back to save the day.
