What a journey! At first I was a little meh because I don't like many alt-Clark stories. But as I kept reading, I quickly fell in love with the premise. And it was so well written. Every moment is just perfect. I love that Clark doesn't just buy the whole soul mates thing and that he's still figuring out his place in the world. And Lois having taken in a kid was great. Jamie is so sweet.
I'm kind of hoping for a sequel to check in and see how he's adapting to living in the future.
As for the author... it reminded me some of BlueOwl but there were of few things that made me think maybe not. I'm leaning more toward the popular guess of KSarasara.
I was REALLY worried about doing an Alt-Universe story for your prompts because they didn't specifically say NOT to, but it was defnitely implied that you wanted regular universe. I just couldn't think of any other way of doing it thought LOL. I am glad you were able to enjoy the story anyway. I hadn't really planned on a sequel, but if an idea strikes me I might write one.
