If you hammer us with a new part every day, we won't be able to digest one before we have to jump to one or two more. And this story needs space to digest it, just like Clark needs space to heal. He can't rush his recovery (which we assume will end with Superman back in Metropolis even though you haven't stated that - yet) and we can't rush this excellent tale. Please space it out a little to let us ache with Clark and build up suppressed angst and generalized anxiety for the eventual resolution, whatever that might be.

Oh, yes, this is a very good segment. I can feel Clark's fear for Lois, his fear for his secret, his fear for the fragility of his new identity, his fear that even if he tried to be Superman he'd fail both miserably and spectacularly. And worst of all, his fear that innocents would pay the price.

I wonder if we'll find out that the actual cause of his blindness is not organic but psychological. I also wonder if Lois never got to try the ray on him a second time. (If you mentioned it in an earlier chapter I missed it.) Even though he's not using his powers, it appears that he still has them. And - here's a silly one - I wonder how he shaves now. By feel?

Keep up the good work. And don't worry about poking the animals through the bars with sticks by spacing out your chapters. You might get some of these guys wildguy but they're worth it.
