8. A fun fact about yourself? - I prefer English to my birth language and many of my friends say I was born in the wrong country. In fact, I wasn't able to write a single line of fiction in my birth language (French) until a few months ago. These days I'm making things even more complicated by getting back to learning German. Yep, I'm a language freak! And second fun fact about myself: I'm also a rollercoaster freak (my favourite being Raptor in Cedar Point, Ohio.)
9. Your last vacation? - In Paris last August, and I spent a day at Disneyland Resort Paris. Fun! But my last REAL vacation was in 2006 (Las Vegas, Grand Canyon and LA... wow... just wow...)

I got 49% for that test btw, and it was all downhill from there! Thankfully I dropped the course at the end of the semester and moved on to better things.

4. When did you start watching L&C? From the very first episode until the beginning of the fourth season when I walked away in frustration. Everything I loved about the characters and the writing for the show was gone and not even Dean in spandex could keep me watching.

5. Other shows you watch? The Daily Show, Colbert Report and anything on the Discovery, History, or Science channels. Mostly I spend my free time in the evenings reading or writing instead of watching TV. If the TV is on, it's usually on the news (or fake news <g>).

6. Three things you can't live without? My son, something to read, and (unfortunately) feedback. I should never have started writing because I crave the stuff something awful now. It's pathetic.

8. A fun fact about yourself? I must walk with a rather confident gait or look approachable because every time I'm in London (and once in Paris), I've been mistaken for a local and people ask me for directions. The expression on their faces when I answer with an American accent is priceless.

9. Your last vacation? The lovely LaraMoon came to visit me last month and we took a road trip to Bryce Canyon for the weekend. Much silliness ensued. Before that - I took my mom to Ireland for her 60th birthday and it was the best two weeks of my life. My mom rocks!

4. When did you start watching L&C? Umm...Sometime in 2005, I think, not long after the first DVD was released. I found the fan fic first and then went looking for the DVD's a few months later. I started writing a few months after that.

5. Other shows you watch? Way too many these days! House, Bones, The Office, Grey's Anatomy, and we've just started watching Season 1 of Heroes and are getting sucked into that.

6. Three things you can't live without? My family, my computer, and coffee. The coffee is practically medicinal with me - necessary for normal human function. I told my daughter recently that the last time I went without coffee was when I was pregnant with her. She shuddered slightly and said, "Boy, I'm glad I wasn't born yet."

8. A fun fact about yourself? I have a new dog! OK, that's not really about me, but I'm excited about it, so I'm sharing. She's a Labradoodle, is a year old (a rescue dog), and is sweet and smart and just generally destined for the dog Hall of Fame.

4. When did you start watching L&C? On and off for the first two seasons, but regularly since the third when it originally aired. I would've been about 9 or 10 when the Pilot aired.

9. Your last vacation? The last time I went abroad for a vacation was last February, when I and my best friend spent four crazy days in London. Meanwhile there was a blizzard raging in Malmö. Thinking about that blizzard and enjoying soft rain in London was part of the fun!

I don't think I am, but since I am this incredibly long-time fan of Lois and Superman, and since I don't feel like Superman, I guess I have to say Lois. 5. Other shows you watch? I am not a tv junkie but during baseball season and when there is some hope for the boys in blue, I watch the Dodgers, I'll sometimes watch House Hunters to see different parts of the country, and used to be a big Strong Medicine Fan until season 3.


6. Three things you can't live without? My dad, sparkletts water, (I know this is an odd answer but believe me, while I don't eat much I sure drink enough H20, lol, and books.

7. Three things you can't live with? Malicious gossip, cigarrette smoke and other drugs, and any form of abuse especially toward children or animals. On a lighter notes, if I get to answer twice, I'd say, I have never cared for cats, the way the writers destroyed L &C and for that matter the "ancient" show of Northern Exposure anyone remember that? and finally, no new L and C fan fic.

8. A fun fact about yourself? Even at my elderly age in my early 30's , I still love going to Disneyland. I will, however, admit, lol, because I won't be able to hear your laughter, that I don't care for roller coasters.

4. When did you start watching L&C? When I was ten years old. I was having dinner when I saw this beautiful woman on TV that I thought looked a lot like Lois Lane in the cartoons - and then found out she WAS Lois Lane! What followed was a four-year obssession. I think I followed every episode of all four seasons save for about seven, which I only missed due to things like the TV breaking down, hurricanes, lightening storms and a great aunt's funeral. And I would totally have skipped the great aunt's funeral. This show was practically religion.

5. Other shows you watch? Hmm. I don't really watch TV that much anymore. Smallville, Highlander, Robin of Sherwood, Gilmore Girls, Related (they cancelled it, the idiots!)24 and of course, the X Files. And I still love Fantaghiro.

8. A fun fact about yourself? My Dad is a practical jokester who shouldn't be exposed to small children. The temptation is too great. One night when I was very small, I was watching Dynasty on my father's knee as was my custom, and in one scene Joan Collins was soaking in a marble bathtub in a luxurious, carpeted bathroom. We don't have carpeted bathrooms in SL, nor had I ever seen one so fancy. I was quite confused.

"Daddy," I asked, "why is that lady bathing in middle of the living room?"

I think the devil himself got into Dad. "Well, hon," he told me seriously. "The fact is, there are a whole lot more people abroad than there is here. So they don't have much space to go around, see? The houses there are quite small, so they don't have room in their bathrooms for the bathtub. So they bathe in the living room."

9. Your last vacation? I stayed at a beach resort for my Mum's College Reunion weekend. Had an intimate and abusive relationship with a deranged bee that had shacked up in my bathroom. I tried to tell it that inter-species relationships wasn't really my thing and that having a bachelor pad inside a hotel bathroom wasn't normal bee behaviour. That's when it turned abusive. Anyway, I learned a valuable life lesson - never try to break anything gently to an unbalanced insect. I came home a jaded woman.

10. Which L&C character are you most like, and why? Lois! Because she's pretty! Okay, I outgrew that one at the age of twelve. Because she messes up and has all these insecurities but underneath it all has the potential to be so much more. She never takes bull from anyone, speaks her mnd and is effing brilliant! Glad I wasn't the only one! I've heard something along the lines of the way each different persons muscles are arranged in their abdomen determines the shape of their belly button, eg round, oval or whatever. Don't know if that's true either.

Belly buttons... A quick search on answers.com (very handy reference meta-search) turned up this page from "Ask Yahoo," which basically says... we don't know. Seems to be a random thing based on your abdomen muscles or something. A lot of theories floating around, but no definitive answer that they could find.

They do mention, though, that the cord is always clamped and cut several inches away from the baby, and falls off naturally later. (Which only makes sense. Humans and umbilical cords have been around a lot longer than civilization, doctors, and knives.) So it's nothing to do with how the cord is cut. It's just how the skin and muscles form when the baby severs the connection to what's left.

Anyway... Back to the subject at hand... Cool thread, Jenn. I've been keeping a bit of an eye on it, but putting off answering because I suck at answering certain kinds of questions (like "three things you ___"). I guess I'll give it a shot.

3. Where do you live? Well, to be utterly mundane and conventional about it... NJ, USA

4. When did you start watching L&C? Season 3, more or less. I watched intermittently before that, but the family had chosen SeaQuest a the show to gather 'round for. It wasn't until I stumbled across FoLCs on Compuserve and Rhen Brink's ficlist (the email list that eventually spawned the Archive) that I became a dedicated fan of the show.

5. Other shows you watch? The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, Battlestar Galactica, and Heroes. Giving Bionic Woman a chance, but not sure how long I'll stick with it. Was a huge SG-1 fan, but can't seem to make myself care about Atlantis anymore. Mythbusters is fun when I catch it, and What Not To Wear when I'm in the mood and there's nothing better on (if nothing else, so that I can gape at the hideous clothes the hosts put on to show off their daring, cutting-edge style).

In college, my roommate ran into some people promoting the band Propellerhead, and came back with a free bumper sticker he didn't really want. It promptly went on the hat. For all that, though, I've only worn the thing a handful of times - most notably for the New England FoLc Fest 2000 costume party. I'd packed it to wear to the WAFF karaoke night, but sadly forgot when the day came.

9. Your last vacation? Annual family trip to MA last month. We've been going to the same place for as long as I can remember. Actually, it's the same place my grandparents went on a semi-regular basis when Mom was a kid. We did, however, go on a mission trip to, of all places, Texas. James, the girls and I sorted shoes for orphans. They were getting ready to send a large shipment to Russia, so most of the shoes we sorted probably ended up there.

The truth is that money is tight these days, so we don't vacation much.

10. Which L&C character are you most like, and why? I'm as skinny as Bobby Bigmouth and I talk non-stop like Star, but there aren't any characters as fun-loving as I am. Most nights James is still laughing when the lights go out.

11. Favorite Books: I love to read. I'll read just about anything that's G to PG-13. However, most of what I read is found on these boards here.

12. Favorite Films: Much to James' annoyance, I find movies to be a waste of two hours time. I would much rather spend a week reading the same thing than I would watching it on a big screen. Besides, it saves the ears.

13. Favorite LnC character: I like writing Lois, but this show doesn't have many characters I don't like--Perry, Jimmy, and Klein are among my favorites. Clark, too--of course.

edit--Oooh! I forgot Martha. I'm a huge fan of Martha Kent!

So do they not tie them? Granted I've been sort of occupied while the docs take care of that... I know they use [here] a bright yellow clamp but always assumed they tied it off somewhere too... By the time I've ever gotten a good look at it it's pretty dried up and so on so it's hard to tell what exactly it's doing...

4. when did you start watching L&C. I'm a late comer to Metropolis. I found L&C on TNT.

5. other shows you watch. I like to watch Desperate Housewives, C.S.I.(Las Vegas), Dancing With the Stars, Food Network shows, and lots more.

6. three things you can't live without. Family, Friends, My kitchen and everything in it (love to cook)

7. three things you can't live with. Not a fan of bugs, any kind. I don't have much use for people who won't control their pets, there are several constantly barking or running loose dogs in my area. Not a big fan of bad drivers either.

9. your last vacation. I don't know if this counts as a vacation but I went to Eugene, OR to set up my youngest daughter at college. Down on Tuesday, back on Friday.
