Betsy, Wonderful, i am all misty eyed and smiling and look like a dork...god that was just so sweet! And so well done, that is such a good way to explain to a child that they were wanted at all times when they have been adopted...

I really should know better than to read fic in a public place, the tears in my eyes are a great big indication of the fact that I'm not working/reading fic. This was wonderful! You managed to capture Jonathan and Martha perfectly, and I loved Jonathan's analogy at the end!

You posted! I have to admit I've been waiting for this one since you sent me that little excerpt, eager to see the entire thing. And I was not disappointed. Superb, Betsy! Beautifully lyrical and poignant and heart-breaking and heart-warming all rolled into one wonderful vignette.  Brava! Eyes watering, Clark jumped up and hugged his dad. Jonathan's big arms wrapped his son in a warm, loving hug. And Clark clung to his father - his real father in every sense that a father could be. Still got a huge lump in my throat from this final paragraph. Good luck with that other little creation you're working up too.  LabRat

Awwwww. Betsy, that was great! No singes from me, either. The dog story was inspired -- great way to assure Clark that he was wanted and valued without getting into specifics of the alien/relative's kid stuff.

wonderful story, betsy. very beautiful. i really like jonathan's explanation. really well done. i know it's not as important as the other stuff, but i especially like this turn of phrase: Martha could see the layers of 'Stoic Kent' forming on the boy. great job on the whole story. Paul

This is very nice, Betsy. The bond between father and sun is special indeed and you showed it wonderful with Jonathan and Clark. And the dog story is very cool.

Beautifully poignant. Kids can be such creeps sometimes, can't they? Clark surely faced many days like this. And Jonathan... ~happy sigh~ That's the Jon Kent from LnC that I absolutely adore. Wonderful characterization!
