This is the second of the ficlets I wrote for last year's fundraiser.
As always, all comments welcomed.

That's awesome! I never thought about it that way - suddenly seeing your exact duplicate in the paper - and as a new superhero, no less! Excellent ficlet!

Barry had to come from somewhere! Thank for the chuckle!

Funny story! Oh, my dear, sweet Barry. And yet, ever since I wrote my story about him, I can't see him as just a random look-alike anymore. Groobie, who is wondering idly where Barry met Melody...was she a mom at the kids' parties, or a woman at the adult parties?
You can find my stories as Groobie on the nfic archives and Susan Young on the gfic archives. In other words, you know me as Groobie.

Thanks for leaving feedback.
DC and Morgana, I've always thought that Barry has been seriously underutilized in fanfic. Although I have seen him show up from time to time in stories, there seems to be so much potential for more for him.
Susan, your Barry story was phenomenal; I'm glad I wrote mine before reading yours, or I probably wouldn't have had the courage to venture into a Barry story of my own.

DC, way cool! I'll keep an eye out. If your story is relatively short (now that my school year is beginning again next week, I won't have a lot of time for fun reading), I will definitely give it a try.

Great job, Lynn As I've said to you other times, I just absolutely love your take on words--how you make the stories really sound like the characters by the way that they speak. It adds so much detail, and I enjoy looking for those creative examples that you throw in . And Barry...so much so love Barry . This is wonderful, Lynn! Laura Oh--and Susan, you had me in your FDK about the possibilities of where Barry could have met Melody. You never know ...
"Where's Clark?" "Right here."
...two simple sentences--with so much meaning.

Hi Laura, Thank you. You've made my day! I must admit to having a bit of fun with eye dialects. ("Take *that*, elementary school spelling teacher!" ) Joy, Lynn

Hi Lynn! Melody looked up from her paper long enough to call out to her boyfriend. “Hey, Barry, get in here! Ya gotta see this guy in the Daily Planet.” Hmm… Barry Allen? No, right. Barry the Double. “Trust me. This guy you really hafta see.” At first I thought she had seen a photo of Clark, but no… He was about to ask if the circus was in town when he saw the fellow’s face -- his own face! Oops? How’s he going to explain that? But hey, at least it wasn’t one of Superman getting cozy with a certain female reporter. Melody might not have taken kindly to that. “That’s not you. His name is Superman. Get this: He ate a bomb and then flew the Prometheus into space. *He* flew it -- no plane, no jetpack, no nuthin’. Just him.” And now she’s wondering why she got the B-model. “It’s not April. And they wouldn’t do that even then; they only print the truth.” PERRY: And only when we can prove it! LOIS: Think I’ll check out one of them -- what-do-ya-call-ems? -- doubles agencies. Could be big money here. Thanks for calling me in, babe. I owe ya one.” /points at ML Thompson’s Superstud/ Things didn’t end well there, if I remember correctly… Cute origin story! I wonder if he already had the figure or if he first had to get rid of a beer belly and get a good shave… Michael
