Noticing that there hasn't been any activity in this folder for a week, I wondered how to get it going again, and came up with a game.

Take a section of the script, and play mad libs with it.

I'll start with a short one.

Adjective #1 (something odd?)
Noun #1
Adjective #2
"ing" Verb
Verb #1
Adjective #3
Adjective #4
Noun #2

So just post something like...

Adjective #3 - ________

...until all are entered, then I'll post the adjusted quote. (I think you'll recognize where it came from).

No more than two per person.

I think, therefore, I get bananas.

When in doubt, think about time travel conundrums. You'll confuse yourself so you can forget what you were in doubt about.

What's the difference between ignorance, apathy, and ambivalence?
I don't know and I don't care one way or the other.

Thanks for the replies.

You don't have to go in order; you can pick any entry.

Oh, and the nouns are singular, so I'll enter that as banana, BG.

Keep it up.

Adjective #1-phosphorescent

What's needed:
"ing" Verb
Verb #1
Adjective #3
Adjective #4

Come on, let's see some action.

I think, therefore, I get bananas.

Verb - discombobulate

Thank you, Labbie and Darcy.

Slight alteration.
Adjective #4 should be a noun.

So we need:

Adjective #3
Noun #2
Noun #3

Oh, and I need another verb.

I think, therefore, I get bananas.

OK, here it is. I'm sure you'll recognize the context.

CLARK
There is no such word as ' phosphorescent.'

LOIS
Of course there is. Somebody's a
banana. Therefore, he's appalling.

CLARK
Traipse again.

LOIS
Are you jumping me?

CLARK
You discombobulate your slim desk I am.

CLARK
Told ya.

LOIS
You call this a giraffe?

The next person who has a quote, just post what words you need.

If people aren't interested in this as much, what about picking a word, and, like we did with banana, randomly placing it in quotes from the script.

Cherry?

Actually, Woody, I think the Mad Dog Lib idea is a great idea. It was fun to see the quote after all of our suggestions.

I'm not reliably on the boards lately, but let me give one a try. Verbs 1-3 should be past tense, 4 should be present tense.

Noun #1: John Wayne
Noun #2: lamp
Noun #3: pig
Verb #1: catapulted
Verb #2: hiccup
Verb #3: pushed
Adjective #1: post-modern
Verb #4: sleepwalk
Noun #4: envelope
Noun #5: google
Verb #5: envelop
Noun #6: metamorphasis

ETA: answers and another verb instead of a misidentified adverb. blush

I'll also mess up ... er, give a cherry quote.
"He's a man. I'm a cherry. You want me to draw you a diagram?"
:p

adverb: just

Thanks for the contributions so far, everyone.

CG - I'm going to use "catapulted" instead -- since it's replacing a verb in the past tense.

Darcy - Ack! The adverb was really more of a conjunction, so "just" doesn't really fit. Can I ask for another present tense verb instead?

Sorry. blush

Not a problem. It just needs a little getting used to.

Hey from the next game can we increase the number of words per person to three? It'll move faster that way and if we get more players then we can get back to two.

What ya say? wink
