Hi everyone! I'm new on the L&Cfic scene, and one of my greatest regrets was never getting to see Lois & Clark actually start a family, which is what attracts me to family fics so much. However, there aren't many of them, because, naturally, most fics focus on Lois and Clark's relationship (which was the point of the show and what I love to read also anyway). I was just wondering what everyone's favourite family fics are, with a focus on the following topics (and they don't all have to be in one story, of course): -Lois conceiving/Clark finding out -Lois pregnant/giving birth -L&C showing off their new baby to everyone -L&C handling the very, very beginning of childhood (from taking the baby home, say, until their child is about 7 or 8) -the couple having more children after the first one -a full house/rich family life I know this seems very broad, like every family fic that has ever been written, but I just love them and I'd love to hear from everyone!
Clark: You're really high maintenance, aren't you?
Lois: Yes, but I'm worth it!

I love these kinds of fics! Some of my favorites are by an author named Christy (they can be found on the archive in the "C" author section); "Emptiness In Harmony" and "AKA Daddy" are two in particular that I know I enjoyed. I think "AKA Daddy" features their kids as somewhat young, while in the other, the daughter, at least, is a pre-teen or teen. (It's been a while since I've read them.) I think it's fun to speculate what L&C's family might have looked like.

I don't think I said it before, but welcome, Mirage!!! I'm sure I'll think of plenty more, but the one that first comes to mind is Erin Klingler's When You Needed Me Most . Very emotional and well written story!! If I think of more, I'll be back. Sara

I am more into fics that are part of the premarriage/family genra. There are family ones I enjoy, but they usually have a lot of angst. Out of the ones you listed I really do enjoy ones where Clark finds out Lois is preggo (first one).
So far I've REALLY enjoyed The Parent Trap, Little Girl Lost, It Happened One (Super) Night, What Are Friends For?, Purgatory, Duet, Cause and Effect. There are others but my computer is acting really slow so I can't readily look up the titles for others. One of the previous posts just reminded me of some of my favourites.
I was very hesitant to read Drifter. For some reason I'd read the first page and my mind would wander off. Though after a while I eventually sat down and read it all in one go. IT WAS ABSOLUTELY GREAT.
Are you only referring to non-Nfic material?
EDIT: I found some others: The Blueberry People Zombies Ate My Homework I'll Love 'Till the End.
I'm sure there's more. There's always more!
I've converted to lurk-ism... hopefully only temporary.

Hey, welcome!
One of my favorite series starts with Firestorm, by Irene Dutch. It's a series where they have multiple kids.

Hey, Sara, I just had to say thanks for the link to When You Needed Me Most... I hadn't read that one before and you're right, it is a really good story.

Thanks for all the suggestions! I'm so excited to read them all...so far, I've only gotten to start Purgatory, and it's really, really good, but honestly, it was quite painful for me to read (those who've read it will know why, I won't spoil it for anyone who hasn't ^^). Thanks for the welcome, Sara and JD! And I'd like to point out to SuperRoo that I actually do read (and am crazy about) nfics as well! I can't wait to read them all, then I'll tell you what I thought of them! Thanks again! Cheers, Mirage

Hi M_W, In addition to those mentioned here, I really enjoyed My Adventures with Superman and 48 Hours Without a Superman by Kathryn Ann Kent. These stories are light reading, funny and very sweet. They are written in 1st person, from the pov of the older of Lois & Clark's two children, a very precocious 8 yr-old girl. I give them both a big - Vicki
