I know nothing about Dr Who, but I loved it! It was poignant, but at some points made me chuckle (I'm thinking of all the comic book stuff and especially when Lois is trying to oggle Clark). I didn't have any trouble following it--the extra info was all I needed and I wasn't weighed down by it either. I have zilch time, so I'll be back. Really great stuf!
