Huh, yeah I just went back to the episode and see what you mean. Screenwriters made an oops with that one though because the beginning of season 1 so clearly takes place in the fall. Between the Smallville corn festival which would most likely take place during fall harvest and then the heat wave in November - unless there is a huge time skip between the pilot and the rest of season 1which doesn't seem to flow well. I dunno. I'm gonna just stick with him showing up in September.
