In C. Leuch's Bolt, From Dubuque lightning strikes an AU Clark as a college student and another college student, Kevin Jones who becomes Bolt, the world's first superhero who inspires Clark to become Superman. Both of them are affected when exposed to green kryptonite, Clark more severely than Kevin. Both lose their powers temporarily.
