Right,lcfan. All the epub or mobi type documents are garbage if you open them. It takes your reader to decode them. Instead of opening them, slide the icon to your desktop and then into your Kindle and it reads it.
At least that is my take on it. I haven't actually tried it myself.
It's they way the compress all that information into a much smaller file.
