I don't recall any relatives of M or J being mentioned on the show.
I've read fanfic which explained that each side of the family was told that Clark was the illegitimate child of a relative on the other side of the family, and that J & M raised him because the mother was too young to be a responsible parent and wished to give her son up for adoption. If the two sides of the family never got together, that explanation would work to explain his sudden appearance on the scene.
