Hmmm, that's a very smart and different take on the whole Claude fiasco, Patrick. I guess Lois can't be a hundred per cent sure that she would have died in the Congo if Claude hadn't seduced her and stolen her story - after all, even if she had gone to the Congo, she might have been luckier than her alt-world counterpart - but yes, it is certainly possible, or even probable, that she would have died. Talk about a blessing in disguise. That slime Claude. Superman has saved Lois hundreds of times, but if Claude hadn't been so utterly sleazy that time when Ann

Nicely original take. Interesting food for thought for Lois.
Well done.

Nice little vignette! Liked it very much.

Wow... I never thought about it that way. What a nice simple story... but oh the way it makes my imagination run wild. Very nicely done.

That's quite a thought provoking notion. Wow... I definitely hadn't thought of it that way. Great angle!

Wonderful idea! But does that mean she'll forgive him? I hope not!--he's still a sleaze!
Loved your story.

Could have. Should have. Would have. It's the things we didn't do or the wondering what might have happened that sometimes haunt us - isn't it?
I meant to leave FDK when I first read this, but I got called away. Two days later, though, it has stayed with me.
Kudos on a very arresting vignette!

Clark: Well, just to put your little mind at ease, Lois, you're right. Ides of Metropolis

Folks, Is something like " Hindsight " too small to submit to the archive?

I don'tknow if it is too short for the archives or not. I really like it. I would love to see you expand it more and make it a longer story. Can you imagine how Clark is struggling with trying to figure out what Lois is thinking?
So well written.

Oh, I hadn't read this story yet. What a great theory!! Clark, if Claude hadn’t stolen my story, I’d be dead now.” ..and this gave me goose-pimples. I just didn't expect she would say that. I don't think it's too short for the archive, though. -Camy
