In this short vignette, you manage to express Lois emotion to an extent that positively awes me. It is bitter-sweet and explores Lois' character perfectly well.

I especially love the way you show the difference between her outward appearance and her inner turmoil.

The only part I don't like about your story: It's too short...

It was great - I love how you expressed her inner turmoil.

Only her eyes betrayed her. Though not red-rimmed, they were flat and dull and just ... vacant.

No. Of course not. This was a marriage, not dinner reservations.
I'm sad for her, but I find that funny and cool.

“Clark,” she murmured to herself just before the door swung open and she took Perry’s arm, “I hope someday, you’ll understand.”

Can't wait until your next one!

I've converted to lurk-ism... hopefully only temporary.

Olympe, Jackie and Roo, thank you all for your wonderful comments -- I'm so glad you guys enjoyed this little vignette! And Olympe, your "complaint" that it was too short is one of the highest compliments you could ever give, so thank you! laugh Seriously, you guys are terrific; thanks for reading, and for the amazing feedback.
