Enormous thanks to 90stvfangirl who kindly agreed to beta this story at a breakneck pace! And pacem, who beta'd for grammar and punctuation, in spite of his annoyance of Lois. I always appreciate any thoughts or comments, especially on the ones that turn out to be epics like this! Thanks for reading! Looking forward to this summer's Location Challenge! And their first kiss was perfect! Quote Out of the corner of her eyes, she saw Clark adjust his glasses, and she shifted uncomfortably, realizing her new—boyfriend? Friend with benefits? Girl Friday?—might not appreciate her saying she missed her old crush. That's definitely something to consider, Lois. Quote “But in the last year and a half, I think you’ve proven that a certain amount of deception, especially if it doesn’t hurt anyone, and if we don’t take anything unrelated to the investigation and if we don’t do much damage, well, it seems like it comes with the territory of stopping the bad guys.” Yes, sometimes the end justifies the means. It's nice to see Clark acknowledging that. Quote he said, his voice somewhere between sleep and something that sounded suspiciously close to bliss. How sweet! Stories are written by the victors. (Hmm, come to think of it, that's not the exact quote...)

Still when she finds out why he can speak fluent Arabic and half a dozen other languages she's going to tan his hide like cheap leather! Quote “I translated for you at the hospital. Then he leaned forward a little and kissed her temple again before falling back into position. “Goodnight, Lois.” Did he extend his aura to include her? Sounds like a logical (and extremely kind) thing for Clark to do. Quote She chastised herself for doubting him. Honestly, what was she expecting, a scene from Ivory Tower? She tallied another point in Clark’s favor as evidence of his deserving the benefit of her doubts. In the tomb, with stone crumbling around them, he’d told her she knew him better than anyone else. And she was starting to feel like she really did. Goodness I nearly fell out of my seat reading about Ivory Tower Lois' favorite guilty pleasure. Watching it with a tub of melting no name brand chocolate ice cream. Oh my, that harken back to my single days! But my treat was Haagen Dazs ice cream, my favorite flavor was Swiss Vanilla Almond. Lois does know him better than anyone else. He deserves her love and attention as much as she deserves his. Lex only saw her as a prize in the contest between himself and Superman. If that mission is accomplished than we have done what we set out to do, which is to entertain and hopefully educate.

I don't usually write them much in the early stage of the relationship (at least not after they've decided to try actually dating), so this was a fun exercise! I think I can write a little bit more like this now that I've tried it out. Quote Yes, sometimes the end justifies the means. It's nice to see Clark acknowledging that. I always wonder how much of this compromise Superman can really handle, but she gets away with SO MUCH on the show! Bakasi, yes, definitely back to the case in this chapter! Something a little lighter after the heaviness of the last chapter. Morgana, these two are so stubborn its a wonder it didn't take the entire tomb caving in to get them where they really wanted to go! I think his aura is definitely, absolutely helping her sleep! So glad you liked the Ivory Tower reference. I really like sneaking that in when I get the chance! Totally agree with you on Lex! Lex thought of her as a tool and then a possession; Clark thinks of her as his world. Thanks so much for reading and commenting on this one!
