Lois and Clark find themselves battling nutty professors, corrupt district attorneys, murder and mayhem, and a generally questionable interpretation of jurisprudence by the writers of this episode.

Hi FoLCs!

Quotes:

CLARK: Somehow, when I think of newlywed bonding, wallpaper isn’t the first thing that comes to mind.

Details:

Lois and Clark are moving into their new home. They have two of everything and from the looks, a lot is from wedding presents because it looks new and identical.

Clark is putting up new wallpaper in the living room. He’d prefer to do it at super speed. Lois prefers he do it slowly so they can do it together. Although, she’s not actually helping with the wallpaper.

Elroy Sykes, a former informant, calls Lois fresh out of prison. Sykes tipped Lois on a babies-for-sale ring. That was just before Clark got hired at the Planet and Sykes went to prison. Sykes wants to meet Lois at Centennial Park. Turns out he’s a patsy for Professor Jefferson Cole, gets Lois to point a manipulated gun at him and ends up getting shot and Lois arrested. Interesting detail, Lois never touched the trigger and the video presented in court will show that she isn’t putting a finger near the trigger. District Attorney Clemmons plans on railroading Lois for political gain (governor election) so the public forgets about the three high profile cases he fumbled. Clark is getting very close to losing his patience with the public official. Lois expects to get out of prison very soon because she’s innocent. Clark offers to extricate Lois from her new accommodations if the situation becomes too rough for her. Superman tricks DA Clemons to release Lois Lane so she can help Superman investigate the case. DA Clemmons has Lois constantly followed. The plainclothes cop shows up when Lois and Clark investigate the crime scene. Perry hires Angela Winters as defense attorney for Lois. They’re old friends. When Lois is alone at the house, the Professor engineers a Lois Lane sighting via hallucinations, having the hallucination point a gun at Ms. Danko, another helper for The Professor. He has developed a Hallucinator, creating mental images in every person exposed to the hallucination field. The Professor intends to remove Superman from the equation so he can’t interfere. Given how the police is following Lois 24/7, how could she have snuck out and back in? DA Clemmons convened a Grand Jury. Lois is dragged before a kangaroo court headed by Judge Samuelson, they show video of Lois with the gun in her hand and the finger not inside the trigger guard or move a finger and that’s evidence enough for the jury to declare her guilty and have her sent to death row. The Professor tells DA Clemmons to disappear the bullet casing Clark submitted into evidence. Clark considers that there is no firing pin indentation on the bullet. Angela Winters informs them that the bullet casing has disappeared from evidence. Superman visits Lois again in prison. There’s no cameras or witnesses in the cellblock when Superman bends the bars out of shape and kisses Lois. Perry gets replaced by a Hallucination when he’s called to testify. DA Clemmons calls Superman as witness. Superman tells on the stand that Lois was a hallucination when she harassed Ms. Danko. DA Clemmons tries to get the jury to believe that Superman is lying. He insinuates that Superman has feelings for Lois. This is not picked up during Sex, Lies & Videotape. When hallucination Perry White enters the stand, he must walk through the small fence gate separating the audience from the official part of the court room. How does nobody notice Perry floating through it. Clark knows that London was fabricated, Lois and Clark don’t know why Perry said all those things about Lois, Clark found the hallucination transmitter, but they do not consider that the hallucination was timed to get Superman out of the courtroom for Perry’s testimony.

Professor Cole takes memos to self for note keeping.

Confirmation by Superman that “The Caped Crusader” is Batman.

Ellen Lane spanked Lois when she pointed a water pistol at Lucy.

Martha and Jonathan show up for support. Ellen and Sam are on a reconciliation safari in Africa and out of reach.

Lois uses her time in prison for personal fitness.

Fun detail: The Professor uses a meteor hallucination over London to get Superman away from the court. The Buckingham Palace is actually the Chateau Roberge hotel with Big Ben hovering above the roof. It might not be a genuine image of London.

Plot Bunny:

The explanation for the complete failure of the court system is that due to Lois and Clark altering history during Soul Mates, up until a hundred years ago, the United States were ruled by a monarch and England had 800 years of unchecked rule by power hungry aristocrats and no history of a constitutional monarchy. The only people who expect a well-developed justice system are Lois and Clark since they remember how it was before and thus are blindsided by the Kangaroo court Lois is thrown into.
