The time is upon us - Kerth nomination season is here!

Below, find the reader's digest version of the nomination season, with all the pertinent details you'll need. We'll link below to places you can find all the details you could ask for!


WHEN: Nomination period runs from Sunday, March 8th 0:00 UTC to Sunday, March 22nd 23:59 UTC.

Important Rules/Guidelines:

• Be sure to include the TITLE of the fic AND the AUTHOR, as titles can be the same or similar. We recommend just copying and pasting it from the eligibles list to save yourself time and effort (and to avoid typos).
• You do NOT need to fill out every category to submit a ballot, but you should check to be sure that your ballot is complete for all the categories you do want to nominate in before submitting your form.
• This is an open submission form, meaning that you write in the box rather than choose from a list. The form accepts up to five nominations per category.
• Please remember that nominating and voting can only be done by FoLCs. Family, friends, and work colleagues cannot nominate or vote (unless they’re a FoLC too!).
• It doesn’t matter if you’re a new or old FoLC or somewhere in between: WE NEED YOUR VOICE!!
• You will receive an e-mail confirmation with your list of nominated stories after a successful submission.

I have a question regarding the best original character/supporting character category. I think in this category you list the fic title, author and character name. If you want to nominate two characters from the same fic, can they both be listed in one nomination or do they need to be listed as separate nominations. I hope this makes sense. Thank you!

Ah, sorry, Songbird! I’d seen this and meant to come back to it. Good question! It should be one character per nomination line. I’m copying and pasting the question and answer from the FAQ for easy reference and so others can see if they have the same question—which people usually do with this one! (And please be assured I’m only pasting here for ease and convenience and am in no way implying people have to seek answers there—this is a perfectly good place to ask specific questions!)

I’m not sure what to do for Best Supporting/Original Character—how do I list that?

Please list the specific character’s name that you think was awesome and well-written, then list the title and the author of the story from which they came. What if you want to nominate five different characters from ONE story? Awesome! Just list each one on a separate line, like so:

Henderson, Title of Story by Awesome FoLC
Mayson Drake, Title of Story by Awesome FoLC
Detective Original Character, Title of Story by Awesome FoLC
Henderson, Title of Different Story by Super FoLC
Henderson, Yet Another Story by Fabulous FoLC

No need to apologize at all!! Everyone's brain works differently and I think like 87% of the world has chronic brain fog now (me included), so there's really no wrong way to get the answer to your question here. Besides, I'm sure plenty of others had the same question and didn't think to look there either, so you've undoubtedly helped others in the process!
