Goals: My main goal is to get unstuck from this mental block I've had for months now. I'm setting a weekly goal of 2500 words. Making it weekly works a bit better for me mentally than daily, that way I don't feel like I've "screwed up" or "failed" if I don't manage to write much (or at all) on any given day. I'm hoping to make heavy use of the Sprinto bot (on the L&C Discord Server). I really hope I surpass this goal... but I'm setting at a more realistic number to start. 🤩 I'm also not going to restrict my muse to just one WIP, so if I feel stuck on one or particularly excited about another, I'll always have a project to work on. My current WIPs with SuperWriMo starting word counts:
- Original romance novel: 33,179 words
- Original Christmas-themed romance novel (co-written): 0 words
- L&C fic (hopefully in the 10k or less range): 3,355
Total starting word count: 36,534 Imma start today because I have some available time, and because I've been trying to make myself write for daaaayyyys. Please feel free to send the nagging spear my way in Discord at any time!

I like what some others are doing on updating daily (or at least frequently) with a new reply to their post. I'm also rereading my romance WIP from the beginning so I can get back into their heads a bit more after abandoning them for months. And holy serendipity, Batman! PuffyTiger said this in a reply to Tommy's post... I'm looking forward to this event to get back into doing what I love and want to be doing instead of giving into the 'nope'. That's exactly the "epiphany" I had last week. I was finally frustrated enough that I wasn't getting to do the things I love... because I wanted to just nope all the time. Granted, I've been on a mental health roller coaster this year, so I NEEDED some "veg" time. But the last several weeks, I've been more or less on an even keel mentally, yet I was still noping out and playing on my phone while binging audiobooks. This has all be SUPER motivating, having this community excitement and support. *cries happy tears* Current Progress!
Total Days: 4 Total Words: 2,337 (I started early!  ) Cumulative words by story:
- Original romance novel: 33,179 words
- Original Christmas-themed romance novel (my portion of co-written): 2,070 words
- L&C fic (hopefully in the 10k or less range): 3,622

Aww, I'm so glad what I said helped. The struggle to get out of a rut is real, for sure. I've been really enjoying having the motivation to dive back in, I just needed a kick, haha.

I think this, more than anything, shows that you're getting better. Being able to see that doing something you love is going to help you heal. Go, Sara!

So apparently doing the things is way easier than doing the updates. The last two days, I did the following stuff that I've been wanting to do for a while but was in the massive "funk" (aka depressive episode and maybe perimenopause starting??): - I spent most of a day making new promo ad graphics for my book. I LOVE doing this and spending "too much" time on it.  So it felt really good to be motivated to do this again AND feel like the creativity was flowing. - I spent some time on social media for my author accounts...something I've been avoidant for several reasons, but then I was getting really sad that my monthly royalties were shrinking because I wasn't talking about my book anywhere. I posted my new graphics and enjoyed seeing the likes and comments and shares. 🤩 (Hopefully that translates to at least a small bump in sales and page reads, but I think part of the point was that I wanted to be *involved* again and I did it!) - I wrote some yesterday on my L&C fic, and I'm really excited to share this one... but I have no idea how it ends! 😅 I'm having to force it a little at times because I'm doing both POVs in first person, and the situation I've put them in requires a bit of mental gymnastics to get into their proper emotional headspaces. But we're working on it! - I've been continuing to reread my novel WIP so that I can get back in their headspaces. It's been...at times, it's been a bit of a struggle because my brain says what I'm reading sounds dumb or juvenile or boring. But other times, I'm really loving coming across lines that I just LOVE so much and hit me in the feels. So yeah, a mixed bag, but overall progress on the task is positive. I think that's it for now... now I should go sprint!

Yay, go Sara! I totally relate on the productivity thing. Often the struggle for me is just that first bit. If I can get started, I find myself getting excited about doing it all. I'm glad you found that the last few days!
