I'm pleased to announce that we will be having a fictathon this summer! And since we all had so much fun playing Guess the Author last time, I've volunteered to run the game again.

What is a fictathon you may ask? We have quite a few new members of our community, so I'll clarify.

Each participant will make a list of 3 wants and 3 don't wants for a story.

Since we are doing Guess the Author, DO NOT post these lists publicly. When these lists are done, you will send them to me, either via private message here, direct message on Discord, or to tigerpuffs@gmail.com.

Once I have received all the lists, I will assign one to each participant and you will have 6-8 weeks to write a story of any length and send it to me. If you need some basic technical beta reading, I can do that too, either via a document sent with email or a shared Google Docs.

When the story is finished, send me the final version. When the writing time is up, I will post all stories and the Guess the Author game can begin! Everyone can participate in this, not just the authors! After a few weeks, I will reveal who the authors are =)

I may be interested, depending on when the deadlines are. My summer is more turbo than usual this year, not to mention that I'm still knee deep in the rewrite of Zenith. 😳 I don't want to commit to something I can't deliver.

The current deadline is six weeks / mid-July. It was chosen to give FoLC time to read be their (or their kids') school starts back up again. It's not 100% set in stone, there just weren't requests for a longer deadline.

2 days left to join the Fictathon and get me your prompts!

I've had no discussion about how long people want to write, so in the interests of wrapping everything up before the earliest school starts, fics will be due July 18.

The guessing game will last until August 8 to give people 3 weeks to read and guess.

Sorry if you've already answered this and I overlooked it but when will the writers receive their prompt? I struggle with checking Discord regularly (is that where I need to check??) and want to make sure I don't miss anything.

You should be getting an email from PuffyTiger on the 30th of this month! So no worries if you’re not on discord super frequently. ☺️

Entries are closed for the Fictathon.

We have an incredible 18 writers participating! Wow! I'm very much looking forward to seeing what they come up with =)

Due to so many entries, I think that 3 weeks is too short a time to read and guess on all those stories. Though it may conflict with some of the earliest school starting times, I'm going to add a week to the guessing game. The reveal will now happen on August 11!

Edit: apparently I can't read a calendar. Reveal is August 15!
