metwin1, if you're not sure what you're doing, it's perhaps best not to try to do it yourself. Actually deleting the files is simple: Ad-Aware, SpyBot or whatever other programme you're using will show you the line of code to remove and where it is, and all you do is go into the registry, find the line and click delete.
But editing the registry is a dangerous thing to do if you don't know what you're doing - it's only too easy to delete something important and then suddenly your computer won't work properly any more. If possible, find a friend who does know what they're doing and get them to do it for you; otherwise, see if someone here could talk you through it step by step.
But, first, are you sure that Ad-Aware or Spybot can't delete them for you? Try running either or both while you're not connected to the Internet and see if they'll get rid of them.
