It's what I thought. They need a woman who knows Clark, and who could spot fashion and makeup clues. Although it was a sloppy forensic job not to take fingerprints from cream jars just to prove that they were Mayson's. Unfotunatelly, they had a theory and they just assumed that it was Mayson staying in Clark's appartment.
